Some questions answered

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

Before you part with any investment, let’s start with an introductory consultation with one of our managing/creative directors and a project manager so as to establish comfort levels, mutual understanding of the task at hand, and the confidence to continue.

After this (optional) consultation, you can select the service you need, pay via debit or credit card at checkout (or a debit order can be arranged) and you can begin scheduling tasks in your priority list on our management software (Asana), or via email if you prefer.

You hire the same agency no matter which package you order. Each month you are purchasing access to our full agency of +50 senior-level employees with a full suite of packaging & related asset design expertise. All packages include a project manager and our quality and attention to detail remain unchanged between packages.

After placing your order, we will prepare your space within our project management software (Asana) and you will be invited to join this space. The entire process, from briefing to approval, can be managed through Asana or via email.

If your business has an internal portal, we are happy to work through that, as required.

You will brief your project manager and creative director through Asana or email, and they will allocate the request to our best-suited employees. After the request has been completed and checked internally, we will deliver the output to you for your feedback. Your feedback will then be briefed to the relevant employees for further action.

A normal packaging project, from strategy to print files, takes around 3-5 weeks. But this depends on the number of SKUs, the complexity of the brief, and the speed of feedback. If a major deadline approaching, contact your project manager and we will move mountains to make it happen.

Small tasks can take 1-48 hours

e.g. update copy, change an icon, move an element, update colours, save file in different format etc

Medium tasks can take 24-72 hours

e.g. change & edit new flavor cue image, shift & edit many elements on pack, typeset the back of pack & create a nutrient table, translate on-pack info, high-res rendering of products etc

Large tasks can take up 5-7 days.

e.g. the initial 3-5 packaging design routes, key-visual / billboard design & rendering, motion graphics etc

Absolutely. Many of our clients are design agencies that allocate overflow work to us, or that don’t necessarily have a strong packaging design division and want to offer world-class packaging design & downstream asset design to their clients. They have chosen to hire our agency of +50 senior-level employees for less than the cost of one or two internal employees, and without the need for contracts. Our pricing structure allows for easy and predictable cashflow management rather than the uncertainty of costing on a project-by-project basis.

We also work with marketing agencies who have clients in the FMCG and BevAlc industries, with already existing products, and who need marketing/social media assets, renders, motion graphics, press releases or point-of-sale units designed.

We get it, plans and budgets change.

You can pause and resume your subscription once per month e.g. if you pause two weeks into the month, when you resume again you will have two weeks remaining before another payment is due. This can give you time to get consolidated feedback from your team or find budget.

If you wish to cancel, you can inform your project manager and the next month simply won’t be charged.

Clients can cancel their subscription within the first week of the subscribed month to receive a 75% refund, or in the second week for a 50% refund. No refunds will be provided for cancellations made after the second week of the subscribed month.

Aside from our prices being transparent and massively competitive, even when compared to freelancers; our agency only hires senior creatives, each with over 10 years of experience, and we have in-house copywriting, compliance and proofreading resources, specifically selected for their packaging design & related asset expertise. Every design goes through multiple layers of internal and client reviews to ensure perfection in both creativity and technicality.

While our primary focus is packaging design and downstream assets showcasing packaging design e.g. point of sale, social media, renders, motion graphics etc, we do world-class logos, guidelines, websites etc. We do website design & development for a top 3 company in the world (by market cap).

Our agency was formed just over 20 years ago by 4 partners from corporate marketing and creative backgrounds. Since then we have been fortunate enough to work with some of the world’s biggest brands consistently due to our competitive pricing and impressive outputs.

Our designs go through rigorous internal reviews involving multiple team members to spot and rectify any design & layout oversights. Each time artwork is adapted, the same team members will review and approve it.

We obtain final sign-off from proofreaders, translators, and finishing artists to ensure perfection before providing open/print files.

We review repro files from printers to ensure they have been set up correctly and can also sign off printer proofs.

Inaccuracy is expensive in the packaging design world and we’ll do our bit to get the first print right.

If you’d like hardcopy sherpas or colour-proofs delivered to you, you will need to organize the courier or cover shipping fees as we can’t control which company you use, where your business operates, or how fast and often you want them. We also don’t want to be responsible for transport delays or damages etc.

You’ll be communicating with your project manager who will process your briefs & feedback, and they will assign tasks to specific employees, through our traffic manager. All requests made by your project manager are monitored by our creative and managing directors.

We do allow client-designer meetings but it’s usually best to let the project manager handle comms with the studio as they know how each designer likes to receive briefs.

Inform your project manager and we will move mountains to meet your deadline whether you are on a 1 Request or 3 Request package. If the deadline requires multiple elements to be completed simultaneously, and timelines are short, we might recommend you move to a higher package for that month.

Most of our biggest clients do. No problem! We’ll update the artwork as needed and go through your internal portals.

Not at all. The only difference is that two or three tasks could be done in 24-72hrs instead of one task.

Remember, if you have any other questions or require more details, don’t hesitate to reach out to us at studio@packagingdesign.io or schedule an introductory meeting on our Contact Us page.
